My Journey
I didn't arrive at this work in a straight line. And I think that's precisely why it works.
My foundation is science – I studied chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with a first class honours degree. But alongside the formal education, I was reading voraciously about the body, health and human performance – Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, anatomy and physiology, nutritional science, functional medicine. Not as a course of study, but out of genuine fascination. The idea that the body is an intelligent, interconnected system – one that responds to how we live – has interested me since I was a student.
What I did with that foundation for the next twenty years, though, was build a career in design and branding.
I spent over two decades as an Account Director in the design world – working with strategists, creative teams and board-level clients to understand exactly what an outcome needed to be and then design the most precise, effective way to achieve it. The core principle of good design is that you never give everyone the same solution. You start with deep understanding. You identify what's actually needed. Then you design something specific to that person, that context, that goal.
That principle didn't leave me when I qualified in integrative nutrition in 2012 and made health my full-time focus. It became the foundation of how I work.
It's why I called the approach Health by Design™. And it's why what I do looks and feels different from most health and wellness practice – because it is. It's a strategic methodology as much as a health programme.
The WorkOver the past twelve years I've worked with high-performing women – individually and through the organisations that employ them – on the single variable that underpins everything else: energy.
Not energy in the simplified sense of tired versus alert. Energy as a reflection of how multiple interconnected systems – physical, mental, emotional, and the life context around them – are functioning under real-world demand.
I've studied widely to understand this: epigenetics, neuroscience, physiology, hormonal health, behavioural psychology, longevity science. I integrate what the research actually shows with a deep understanding of how ambitious, accomplished women actually live and work. The result is an approach that is precise, personalised and built to last – rather than another programme to follow until life gets in the way.
The personal dimension
I also bring something to this work that no amount of study provides: the lived experience of being a high-performing woman in a professional world that has rarely made it easy.
I know what it is to have to prove yourself twice over. To navigate a career through the invisible headwinds of bias, expectation and the particular exhaustion of always being the one who has to work harder for the same result. To go through the physiological transitions of midlife while simultaneously being expected to perform at your peak – without acknowledgement, without support, and often without even the language to name what's happening.
This is not a complaint. It's a context. And it's part of why I care so deeply about what I do.
The women I work with are not lacking in capability, ambition or discipline. They are operating in conditions that deplete energy at a structural level – and they deserve an approach that meets that reality with intelligence, not generic advice.
Audacious Aging™
The work has led me, inevitably, to a bigger question: not just how high-performing women sustain their energy now, but how they age.
The story we've been told about women getting older – that it means gradual decline, reduced relevance, the slow relinquishing of vitality and power – is not only dispiriting. It's not supported by the science.
How we age is far more within our influence than most people realise. Cognitive function, physical vitality, hormonal health, emotional resilience – these are not fixed trajectories. They respond, measurably, to how we live and what we understand about our own biology.
Audacious Aging™ is my philosophy, my platform and my forthcoming book – a manifesto for women who refuse to accept that the best years are behind them. Who want to approach their 40s, 50s and beyond not with graceful acceptance, but with intelligence, intention and a genuine sense of what's possible.
The book is coming in 2027. In the meantime, The Long Game is where I share my current thinking – fortnightly, no noise.
Get in touch
I work with a small number of individual clients each year through the Irresistible Health Method® – a fully personalised six-month engagement that gets to the root of what's driving your energy and builds something genuinely sustainable.
I also work with organisations – through keynotes, workshops, strategic consultancy and cohort programmes – to put energy at the centre of how they support and retain their highest-performing women.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to talk.
